Weekly update

Hello and welcome to another busy week. We have only one week to do before our dress rehearsal of our Christmas play "The Christmas Rose".
The children have been super at practising their parts and learning their words, a true credit to everyone. We will be continuing to use our time effectively in the hall making sure that the children are happy and comfortable with their parts. You will all be truly proud of them when you see then in action next week.

Even though we are very busy practising the play we are still continuing with lessons in class as much as possible.

In literacy we will be having a phonics week focusing especially on the double consonants e.g. words that have ll, ss, ff, ng.

In numeracy we will be reviewing 2-D shape and starting to learn about 3-D shape. We will be looking at the words corners, edges, sides and faces.

In Here I Am we are starting our new topic on Gifts and the children will be able to:
RECOGNISE :
That the children recognise that a gift is something chosen for someone and know the key words: gift, giving, love, choose

REFLECT:
That the children reflect on some gifts chosen for and given to them

RESPECT:
That the children appreciate that some gifts are specially chosen
In science we are learning about sound and hearing and the range of purposes including recognising hazards and risks.
We will also be discussing how some sounds can be heard from a long distance.


The operation christmas child boxes haven't gone yet, there is still time if you haven't done a box. Thank you to everyone who has brought in a box.
